About the Journal

"Text and Interpretation" is a peer-reviewed, electronic, bilingual scientific journal (ISSN 2960-9461) of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Western European Languages and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, which aims to promote the creation of interdisciplinary works based on text research. The editorial board welcomes articles on:

  • Text interpretation in literary studies;
  • Linguistic-stylistic interpretation of the text;
  • Interpretation of the text in the works of other writers.
  • Text interpretation in various fields of art (theatre, cinematography, ballet, etc.).
  • Translation as an interpretation of the text.

The magazine is intended for scholars of humanitarian profile: professors/teachers, scholars and doctoral students.

The Institute of Western European Languages and Literatures of the Faculty of Humanities at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is pleased to announce its Fourth Conference on “Text and Interpretation,” to be held in May 2026.

The conference is dedicated to the memory of Professor Niko Kiasashvili.
