Text and Interpretation

The Institute of Western European Languages and Literatures of the Faculty of Humanities at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is pleased to announce its Fourth Conference on “Text and Interpretation,” to be held in May 2026.

The conference is dedicated to the memory of Professor Niko Kiasashvili.

The conference welcomes papers addressing the following topics:

  • Interpretation of texts in literary studies

  • Interpretation of texts in the works of other writers

  • Interpretation of texts in various forms of art, including theatre, cinema, ballet, and others

  • Translation as an interpretation of the text

The deadline for submitting abstracts is May 1, 2026. Please see the attached document for the abstract submission guidelines.
